When HELP didn’t HELP
Throughout countless meetings with parents, whether in my role as a special education teacher in public schools, private school teacher, or licensed educational therapist, one thing was evident: parents weren’t getting the answers they needed from their child’s diagnostic testing results.
When I earned my Master of Education in Special Education and became a TEA-certified Educational Diagnostician testing students for learning disabilities, those conversations began to change. Suddenly, I was providing parents with answers that made everything ‘click’. The parents understood WHY their child was genuinely unable to perform certain tasks and the next steps to help them overcome those weaknesses. Hope became tangible and the gap that had formed between the parents and their child seemed smaller.
At that point, I knew that these kinds of answers and help should be easily available to all families, and the BEYOND a LABEL Framework was created.

Tailored Testing = Tailored Results
One of the key aspects of my reports is that accommodations and recommendations are not just a copy-and-paste list. They are justified and tailored to fit each child's unique needs. I spend approximately 15 to 20 hours writing each report before sending it to parents. This detailed approach ensures that the accommodations recommended are specific to how the child's learning disability manifests in both classroom and home environments.
